Iran Attacks Two Iraqi Military Bases Housing American Troops

By: Jackson Carter

Early Wednesday morning in Iraq, Al Assad air base came under Iranian missile fire. The base, which was a target for its housing of U.S. troops, was targeted along with multiple other locations in the country where there is U.S. military presence. A source in the United States Military confirmed to Fox News, “[we are under] missile attack from Iran. These are either cruise missiles or short-range ballistic missiles. All over the country."

Iranian state television confirmed in a broadcast that the nation had launched “tens” of surface-to-surface missiles at targets in Iraq housing U.S. troops as retribution for the killing of Iranian Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham briefed reporters after the report broke. Grisham said: “We are aware of the reports of attacks on U.S. facilities in Iraq. The President has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his National Security team.”
